When installing TiVo Desktop 2.4a you may be confronted with the following
error message:
"failed to create key Software\TiVo\Desktop\Transfer"
I found statements and a posted solution to this on tivocommunity.com.
Users experiencing the same issue posted the resolution below.
Focus on the two keys below :


- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TIVO\
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\TIVO\


Right click in each Hive the TIVO key and select Permissions.Give here
Full Controll to Administrator and to make it sure to that user profile
under which you install the Application.

Close registry editor.Run it again.
