Increasing the icon cache size can speed up your Desktop refreshes.
(useful when you have a large amount of different icons or shortcuts on
your Desktop) To increase the icon cache size go to :


- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft
\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\


Locate here in the right pane the entry:

Max Cached Icons

If the entry does not exist you need to create it.(right click , new , REG_SZ
[String Value] , name it as mentioned above)

Doubleclick Max Cached Icons and set it's value to 2000.


Restart your PC.On a Desktop packed with icons and shortcuts you will
recognize a faster refresh.
